Obituary of Donald David Duncan

It is with sadness that the family of Donald David Duncan announces his passing on Monday, April 4th, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  He was born on November 17th, 1946, in Havelock, New Brunswick, to Willard and Lottie (nee Garnett) Duncan. 

Donnie was an honest man who was loved by many. He grew up in a big family with seven brothers and three sisters, meaning that he was a family man from the very beginning. Family continued to be a very important part of his life. Donnie was hard working and drove transport in the construction industry for many years, until his retirement. Everyone knew that Donnie’s life was built on routine; his crib nights, his weekly suppers at the lrving, and Sunday driving just to name a few.  You could always find him with his crew at Tim’s or at the mall. He loved listening to country music or going to live country jams and kitchen parties. His strong and steady presence will be dearly missed.

Donald is survived by his partner Marianne; his son Craig (Michelle); his grandchildren Taylor, Carter, Noelle, and Mason; brothers Bryan, Dwight, Lorris (Wendy), Terry (Jennifer), and Wally (Norma); sisters Greta (David), Linda (Dale), and Lisa (Roy); as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents, wife Elaine, and brothers Stanley and Gerald.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation for Donald will be held on Friday, April 8^th, 2022, from 4:00 – 9:00 PM. A committal service will follow on Saturday, April 9^th, 2022, at 1:00 PM from the Church of St. Patrick’s Cemetery (34 Old Black River Road, Black River).
