Obituary of Dawn Ellen Oldfield
With heavy hearts, the family of Dawn Ellen Oldfield announce her passing on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born February 9, 1958, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Carol (Merritt) Oldfield.
Dawn started her working career at Baxter’s Dairy, moving to CHSJ, which lead her to move to Halifax at MITV and Global TV in Toronto before returning home upon retirement. When not at work, she loved to listen to her Bee Gees and Bon Jovi.
Dawn is survived by her brother, Doug (Terry); sister, Sherrie (Lance); nieces and nephews: Kevin Shephard (Melissa), Kelley Prosser (Randy), Randy Oldfield, and Heather Oldfield (Mark); great- nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece; her best friend of over 50 years, Marilyn McLeod; and her precious cat, Sadie.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Karen Shephard (the late Rick).
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visiting will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 4 to 8 pm. A private graveside service will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Red Head Strays would be appreciated by the family.
