Obituary of Bernice Evans
It is with deep sadness that the family of Bernice Evans announces her passing on April 12th, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in her 83rd year. Born on March 4th, 1939, in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Auto and Dorothy (nee Campbell) Seely. She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Arthur “Art” Evans; and siblings Alice, Ralph, Jack, Robert, and Murray.
Bernice was a quiet and private individual, but family was everything to her. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally. Bernice was a kind and caring woman, with a big heart, who would do anything to help the ones she loved. Bernice also liked her personal time, meaning every day at 5:00 PM she would stop what she was doing to sit down and watch her favourite television shows; Little House on The Prairie followed by The Waltons. Her caring nature extended beyond her family as an active member of the Crown of Glory Prayer Group for three to four years. Bernice loved flowers (especially pink ones), chocolates, angels and a good sale at K-Mart or Giant Tiger. Even though Bernice is not with us anymore, her love will continue to shine in our hearts and our memories.
Bernice is survived by her five adoring children Debbie (Kevin), Wade (Christine), Sharon (Mike), Heather (Lloyd), and Lawrence; 6 grandchildren Cassie, Caitlin, Josh, Emma-Lee, Andrew, and Nathan; 9 great-grandchildren Jacob, Olivia, Johnny, Noah, Elliot, James, Alicia, Jemma, and Emerson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation for Bernice will be on Friday, April 15th, 2022, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, April 16th, 2022, at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM.
