Dear Jeannie
It is difficult to find words to tell you how much I love and miss you.We have had so many years of experiences and adventures. My hope is that I have learned by your example to live a life of kindness, gentleness, helpfulness and a life of gratitude.
Tom and I miss you so much already. We shall see each other again.
Love your niece, Patricia

Mom and Dad, Pearl and Bob Burbine, were dear friends to Jean and John, having met as navy family. They all spent many happy times together. Mom and Jean and Shirley were like sisters and stayed close friends forever. Always marvelled at Jean driving to New Brunswick well into her “golden” years -she sure loved that! We’ll be thinking of you all as you celebrate this lovely lady’s life tomorrow.

Jean was the kindest person I know. To me she was always Aunt Jean even though we were not family. When she visited with our family Jean had a way of making you feel you were the most important person in the room. When she lived in Ottawa she’d always make time to have a visit with my Grandmother and then she’d tell me how special Marion was. Jean had a painting of a seascape that my Grandmother painted for her. On her last road trip she dropped that painting off and said it’s time for the painting to be in your home. That painting has a special place in my home, with just the amount of light that Jean said it needed to make the waves stand out. That’s the kind of person Jean was; a grand lady quietly standing out bringing waves of good feelings. Jean will always be remembered and missed.

Dear Aunt Jean, you are truly missed. I remember how every summer you would come to Massachusetts to visit your mother Margaret (Namie), your sister Olive and brother Elmer, and your nieces Margaret, Catherine and Patricia. For a month we would all enjoy many gatherings and great food, along with epic shopping. Visits to antique stores, country fairs, Sally's (Salvation Army) and other thrift stores to find a bargain and always a visit to the famous "Spag's". It was a special time and well remembered. We miss you Aunt Jean and look forward to someday seeing you again! Love, your great niece, Laurie and family.

Jean and I met in 1949 and remained friends all these years. Our husbands were both in the Royal Canadian Navy. Both were WWII veterans and served together on HMCS Iroquois in the Korean War. As Navy wives, Jean and I and our children spent much time together when our husbands were away at sea. It was a long and valued friendship. Jean was a very special lady and I have great memories of those years. Our deepest sympathy to Dave and his family and to Jean's nieces Judy and Pat who she so dearly loved.

Condolences to Jean’s family. After meeting her through her niece Judy, I looked forward to her many visits to Saint John. She was a willing participant in all adventures and always had a grand time at the cottage. I’ll never forget our shopping trips to the Hospice Shoppe and stopping for tea and dessert. Memories made with her will be cherished forever
