Obituary of G. Russell Morey
The death of G. Russell Morey, of Cedar Grove Crescent, husband of the late Mary Eileen (McCarthy) Morey, occurred on Sunday, June 1, 2003, at his residence. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Ernest and Florence (Driscoll) Morey. Mr. Morey graduated from St. Vincent's High School, and worked in the Sales Department of Dustbane Enterprises Ltd. He attended Holy Trinity Parish. Russell was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the R.C.A.F. as an Air Gunner. He will be sadly missed by two daughters; S. Jane Morey and her husband William Abbott of Knowlton, QC, and Jacqueline A. (Philip) Heffernan of Quispamsis; daughter-in-law Jeanne Morey of Riverview, one sister; Mary (Joseph) Breen of Renforth, devoted Grampy to grandchildren; Dominic Dumouchel, Sara and Rebecca Morey, Katie, Alie, Maggie and Tommie Heffernan, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, John R. Morey and brothers, John and Bernard Morey. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road, on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
