Obituary of Darlene Hayes
The death of Darlene (Burtt) Hayes occurred suddenly, at the Saint john Regional Hospital, on Sunday, July 27th, 2003. Born in Zealand, NB, she was the wife of the late Howard T. Hayes and daughter of the late Rhodes and Marilda (Crouse) Burtt. Darlene loved to cook and enjoyed watching the Blue Jays play. Her laughter, humor, love and concern for others will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Darlene is survived by three sons: Darryl and Terry (Candace) both of Saint John and Michael (Jennifer) of Quispamsis; one sister: Sylvia McKillop (Hugh) of Saint John, NB; four brothers: Robert and Edgar Burtt both of Sudbury, ON, James Burtt of Fredericton, NB and Wayne Burtt (Julie) of Burtt's Corner, NB; two grandsons: Justin and Nathan; aunts; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Dana; sister, Gwendolyn; two brothers, Curtis and Irvine. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th, 2003, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506)634-7424. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30th, 2003 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery on Thursday at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, donations may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
