Obituary of Bert N. Flowers
The death of Mr. Bert Nelson Flowers of Ellerdale St, husband of the late Elizabeth (Golden) Flowers occurred on Sunday, November 9, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Wirral, Queens Co. he was the son of the late Joseph and Annie (Osborne) Flowers. Bert was employed with the Simonds Parish of Saint John as a heavy equipment operator and the Port of Saint John. He served in WWII for the Royal Canadian Army, was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish, R.C.L. Branch # 53 Jervis Bay and had a great passion for hunting and racing cars. Bert is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by seven brothers Amos, Cecil, Charles, George, Fred, Albert and Roy, two sisters Mona Webb and Phyllis McIntosh. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday, November 10 & 11, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. There will be a R.C.L. Tribute service Monday, November 10, 2003 at 7:30 pm.
