Obituary of Arthur L. McQuade
The death of Mr. Arthur L. McQuade, of 161 McNamara Drive, Saint John, NB, husband of Annie B. (Shepherd) McQuade, occurred on Friday, November 15, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born December 12, 1914, in Medford, Victoria County, NB, he was the son of the late Dennis and Josephine McQuade. He managed and operated the St. Patrick's Orphanage Farm in Silver Falls, from 1946 until its closing. Until his retirement, Art, had been employed as a Foreman with the Department of Highways. He was a veteran of the second World War, having served in Canada. Arthur was a parishioner of St. Joachim's Church, and he was active with the Knights of Columbus, Saint John East, Council #6595. Art was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife Annie, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage on March 1, 2002, his four sons Gerald, Roland and Arthur Jr., all of Saint John, and Rev. Jim McQuade of Miramichi, his three daughters Patricia David (Louis) of Saint John, Lorraine Corcoran (Paul) of Saint John, and Barbara Thibault (Ted) of Rothesay, two brothers Harold and Bernard McQuade of Saint John, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Juanita McAuliffe, grandsons, Robert David, Michael McAuliffe, brothers Andrew, Milton, Floyd and Dennis and sister Seretha Kilfoil (Thomas) of Johnville, NB. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 1:00 PM, from St. Joachim's Church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Juanita McAuliffe Scholarship Fund for Postgraduate Nurses, c/o of the SJRH Foundation, P.O.
