Obituary of Susan Mary Jane Watts
The death of Susan Mary Jane (Secord) Watts, wife of the late Rueben H. Watts, occurred on Monday, February 3, 2003 at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Lodge. Born in Long Creek, Queens County, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Jennie F. (Patterson) Secord. Following her employment with Thornes Hardware, she was employed as a clerk-typist with Brooke Bond and Mitchell and McConnell, retiring in 1977. Susan was a former charter member of the Kennebecasis United Baptist Church, currently a member of Main St. Baptist Church and was active in the Women's Missionary Society at various churches in the Saint John area. She is survived by two sons Dr. E. Gordon Ross of York, Pennsylvania and Peter J. Ross of Quispamsis, NB, two daughters, Ann Fowler of Quispamsis and Marsha (James) Inch of Toronto; one brother Harry Secord of Chipman, one stepson Roy B.L. Watts of Lincoln, one stepdaughter Marlene Bonnevie of Holderville, thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she is predeceased by her first husband Ellis G. Ross, sisters Florence, Marion, Bessie and Ada, brothers Ralph, Gordon, Clifford, George and Charlie, son- in- law Fraser, grandsons Tim and Mark. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday, February 5 and 6, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 2:00 PM from Main Street Baptist Church. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
