Obituary of Wilmond (Wil) Joseph Manuel
After a long and courageous battle with ill health, Wilmond J. Manuel passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 7th, 2022, in his home. Born on May 16th, 1952, in Baie-St.Anne, NB, he was the son of the late Louis and Louise (nee Manuel) Manuel.
Wil was a talented, skilled, and creative man. Working as a carpenter for 40 years, he was employed with many small companies over the years such as Bask in Construction out of Sussex NB and Lambert Construction in Saint John, NB. As he neared closer to his retirement, Wil worked security for Garda World.
Being a social individual, Wil loved being around people, especially the ladies from Sobeys North. Growing up in a large and close family, Wil understood the importance of loved ones; they were everything to Wil. He enjoyed spending time his family and relatives, and whenever he was able, he played games with his nieces and nephews.
With a big heart, Wil liked to give back to his community. He volunteered for many years with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Big Bike and Mud Run.
Wil is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 22 years; son John; brothers Alisbon, Neil (Arlene), and Keith (Cheryl) of Saint John, and Louis of St. George; sisters Pierette (Stephen) Gerrior and Claudia Hoyt of Saint John; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents and sisters Lorretta Bell, Brigitte Dunn, Lorna Manuel and Adriena Manuel.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Service of Remembrance will begin at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel with Wil’s burial taking place directly after at Kingston Baptist Cemetery.
