Cynthia, John and families: I am incredibly saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. Velma was a dear friend: so full of common sense..and boundless energy. I have never forgotten the many times spent with her…and your wonderful father, Keith. They were truly the “salt of the earth”.
My best and sympathy to all,
Donnie (Brownell) Dineen

Thinking of you with love and the fondest memories of our younger years together…
I still remember the day the Windsor’s moving truck pulled into 29 Crescent Drive. Keith and Velma were there eager to meet the kids who gathered in curious anticipation. The Windsor’s easy and generous Newfoundland spirit encouraged us, and many lifelong friendships were since formed. Keith and Velma were the strong and steady parents whose guidance helped to shape those who were fortunate to hang out in their company. Thank you for that and for the many lasting and cherished memories. RIP dear Velma Windsor. ❤️

Sincere condolences to the family. I met Mrs. Winsor at Scotiabank, Bay Roberts where her husband Keith hired me on July 2nd, 1959. I had a great 42 year career due to the Winsor family. She was indeed a beautiful person inside and out. God bless you all, George Bradbury and family.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of our “Auntie Velma.” I will forever have fond memories of jumping off the diving board at Auntie Velma and Uncle Keith’s house as a child on our visits to Saint John and will always remember Auntie Velma’s sharp wit and generous spirit. I believe this lovely photo was taken at my wedding! May she Rest In Peace.

Our deepest and most profound condolences on hearing of the death of VELMA; early on in my career I met Velma as our CEO of THE CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION in Saint JOHN; She was a tremendous advocate and early on had me assume a position with her on the Board; her remarkable work and advocacy will be long be remembered; after that tenture we became neighbors on Park Drive and whenever we ran into each other , her fun loving spirit and interest shone. We have very fond memories of VELMA. R.I.P Maggie&Gregory Zed

John and Cynthia and families
I am so sad to say goodbye to my ‘Aunt Velma’. She was the closest I ever had to a sister, and many times my ‘second mother’ (though she refused to lay claim to that one!). She was also my confidante and friend. Over the years, we shared many laughs and tears.
Velma’s family were extremely important to her. Often she shared with me the important part that her children and grandchildren played in her life. I am sure you will all miss her dearly.
Brian, Dawn and Ken join me in extending our love to all the family, and are so sorry we cannot be with you.
Looking forward to when we can get together and have an ‘Auntie Velma night’, complete with a glass of wine (or 2).
Love,
Mary and Brian
