Obituary of Jean Emma O'Connor
The death of Jean O’Connor of Saint John, wife of the late John O’Connor, occurred peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on November 20, 1949 in Digby, NS, she was the daughter of Beatrice (Amero) Bremner and the late Charlie Bremner.
In addition to her mother, Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children, Crystal Stevens (Mike) and Shawn O’Connor (Kim); precious grandchildren who were her world, Dylan Stevens, Taylor and Karter O’Connor; brothers, Brian (Ruth), Gary (Cindy), Randy (Wendy) and Paul (Kathy); as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her father and husband, she was predeceased by her uncle, Frank.
Jean started her working career with Dominion Foods and retired from the Atlantic Superstore on Rothesay Avenue. She enjoyed socializing with her friends but most of all looked forward to the times spent with her family…as this was when she was at her happiest.
Jean’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to Dr. Christian Mackin, the nurses of Palliative Care and to Pat Chapman with Saint John Extra Mural for the exceptional care that was always provided to her.
Although there will be no visitation or funeral service, relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service which will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens, 715 Latimore Lake Road, Saint John on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM (for those attending please meet at the cemetery office for 11:00 AM). Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the SJRH Palliative Care Unit c/o the SJRH Foundation.
