Obituary of JoAnne Lewis
JoAnne Gladys Lewis (née Murray) passed away at her home in Saint John, New Brunswick on December 29th, 2022. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4th, 2022, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm, immediately followed by a funeral service at Brenan’s Funeral Home in Saint John, NB. A reception will follow.
JoAnne was born on July 4th, 1947, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia to Dr. Stuart Eldon Murray and Roberta Gladys (Steeves) Murray. She was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings Robert Murray and Marilyn St. Pierre. She will be sadly missed by her 3 sons, Randy Charlton (Lisa), Jerry Lewis, and Patrick Lewis (Lisa), as well as her brothers Austin (Carole), James (Sharon), Brian (Kathy) and Dale, grandsons Chad Charlton (Cassondra) and Josh Reid (Katie), great grandchildren Jada and Mackenzie Charlton, and Avery and Connor Reid, many nieces and nephews, and an abundance of wonderful friends.
JoAnne spent her 42-year career in the nursing profession, and found her passion working in the mental health field. With hard work and perseverance, she achieved a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of New Brunswick in 2007.
When she wasn’t working, she could be found knitting, gardening, rooting for her favorite athletes, and boasting about her three sons.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In memory of JoAnne, donations can be made to Bobby’s Hospice at www.hospicesj.ca. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
