Obituary of Lawrence William Barker
Lawrence William Barker of Hickey Road, born on February 3, 1952, passed away on December 30, 2022, at Bobby’s Hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Larry worked as a Loader Operator for Thomas Construction for many years served in the reserve Army 1 Battalion, The Royal New Brunswick Regiment (Carleton and York). He also worked for many auto body shops, MRA’s, and in the Foundry at MacAvity’s.
Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” for 56 years; sons, Shane and Lonny of Edmonton, AB; grandsons, Tevinn and Gavinn Richards of Saint John; his loyal friend, Jasper; sisters: Myra Steeves and Bev Scott, both of Saint John, and Donna Asselin (Pierre) of Nova Scotia; Godson, Peter Barker Jr. of Toronto; mother, Marion “Mary” Barker of Sant John; brother, Kevin; cousin Daryl; nieces: Keri, Becky, and Angie; nephews, Travis and Joey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ken and Rose Taylor; aunt, Ruth Vossun; several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Lynn; father, Bernard; brother, Leslie (Dooley); and daughter-in-law, Rachel Barker.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A graveside service will take place on Friday, January 6, 2023, in Fernhill Cemetery at 11 am.
