Sincere condolences to Mary Chisholm and all of Father Brian’s close family. He and my grandmother Marion were first cousins. I knew him better as the person who brought the Christophers Club to St Malachy’s when I was a student. He was humble, a very nice man and a wonderful priest. I only learned of some of his impressive musical and academic accomplishments by reading his obituary. He will no doubt be having a lovely tea party in heaven, surrounded by friends and family. Rest in peace Father Brian.

Deepest sympathy to all family, especially Mary and Pascal. My memory of Fr. Brian was how his being responded to the renewal call of Vatican ll which he shared with all.
For sure he was supportive of the Sisters of Charity in their response to the call of the Council. Gifted pastoral presence he continued to be as long as possible and grateful for the support to share his priesthood always. Remember us Brian as we walk each other home. Peace of the flowing River be yours!

Please accept my sincere condolences upon the death of Fr. Brian Hansen. Fr. Hansen was a wonderful person and a wonderful priest. I was so fortunate to have his as my pastor both at St. Joachim's Parish, where he married my husband Bill and I in 1976, and later, at St. Mark's Parish. Fr. Hansen invited me to become a lector at St. Mark's, a ministry in which I am still active in my parish today.

I just wanted to add that I (Bill) went through RCIA, one on one, with Father Hansen prior to our wedding. While it was very informative, theologically, he forgot one thing in preparing me for my first confession. It was a little embarrassing to tell the priest hearing my confession that I had no idea what an act of contrition was.

I am sorry to hear of the death of Father Brian. My family enjoyed his dedication to St. Augustine's Parish. He was a truly wonderful pastor and friend during his years at our parish. When his brother died just before Easter one year, he would not leave to attend his funeral until the Easter Trilogy was complete.
My condolences to his sister and brother.

Rest in peace my dear uncle, Father Brian. You will always hold a special place in my heart! You were such a fun uncle, full of love and laughter (your infectious laugh will live in my memory forever!). Thank you for deepening my faith. Family masses were so special and always accompanied all of our family celebrations. I also remember when you said mass for our family at the cottage, it was so personal and powerful! Also thank-you for officiating all the family weddings...having an incredible priest in the family is such a blessing! I also love how close you and my dad (your bother Don) were. You were true models of family love and now I adore and value my siblings just as much! I will love and miss you forever!
Your niece,
Terese Hansen

Father Brian was pivotal to my life. He was "my priest" when I was an innocent child at St. Joachims, and he even used to walk in the neighbourhood, saying hello and visiting homes.. He provided fierce defense when, as a youth, I felt I had been wronged. He encouraged my sports and music endeavours with a kindness and interest that left a lasting impression as a teen. When I was an adult and he was no longer my priest, he reached out to me after a chance meeting. He knew something was wrong and offered me the grace and sage wisdom I needed to fix things. Father, you were a man of great impact and I will always remember and treasure your kindness and help and endeavour to lead the life you showed was possible. To Father's family, I offer my sincere condolences.
