Obituary of Catherine Wilson
It is with gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Catherine Wilson annouce her passing which occurred on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 8, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Arthur C. and Helen (O’Brien) Wilson. The oldest of seven, Catherine was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Catherine worked as a bookkeeper and ended her career working with Judge Guss in the family court system. She was a woman of great faith and attended Mass daily. Catherine loved to travel and made many lifelong memories on her trips to Europe and Asia.
Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her 10 nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, many great-great-nieces and nephews, special cousins, Ellen Rawlinson and Ernestine Rooney; as well as sister-in-law, Sarah Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, J. Arthur Wilson, Helen T. Wilson, Elizabeth Campbell, Anne Shields, Patricia Wilson and Gordon Wilson.
In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, there will be no visitation. However, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will take place from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, Saint John on Friday January 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Romero House or to the Palliative Care Unit at the SJRH c/o the SJRH Foundation.
