Obituary of Douglas Wheaton Briggs
With profound sadness, the family of Doug Briggs of St. Martins, NB, announce his unexpected passing on January 18, 2023, at his residence. Born August 13, 1956, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lois (Humphrey) Briggs, and the beloved husband of 26 years to Tracy (Golding) Briggs.
In addition to his loving wife Tracy, Doug is survived by his children: Stephanie Englehart (Brad Merrett), Tiffany Floyd (Joey), Cameron Briggs (Courtney Muenster), and Robert Englehart (Michelle); grandchildren: Sheldon, Mya, Ava, Allie, Sara, Blake, Grace “Dolly”, and Mason; sister, Margaret Bennett (Brad); brother, Hillis Briggs; nephews, Jerrod and Shawn Briggs; his beloved feline companion, Alpine 2.0; and abundance of good friends, and we can’t forget The Orange Flash.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, George; and 2 cherished dogs, Slugger and Chevy.
Dougie’s family would like to acknowledge the responding paramedics who went above and beyond. We thank you.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), where visiting will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11 am from Brenan’s Chapel. A reception will be held at St. Martins Baptist Church following the service. All are welcome to come and share memories.
