Obituary of Evelyn Louise Hines
It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn (Black) Hines announce her passing on Thursday, January 26th, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 28th, 1934, in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Eleanor (Pickard) Black. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband, Ronald Hines, and brothers, Theo, Gerald, and Hazen.
Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from her family and friends, and she kept in touch with them through Facebook. She lived life to the fullest with her husband, Ronald Hines, who was the love of her life. "Love you forever and ever and ever". They shared many precious moments through their travels, both near and far, with a special fondness for Prince Edward Island and the White Mountains.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ronald (Linda) Hines, Ralph (Marion) Hines, and Susan (Kelvin) O'Neill; her grandchildren, Michael and Stephen Hines, Stephen Duncan, Krista Dorie, Jace Hines, Robyn and Taryn O'Neill; and her great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Kendel, Alayna, Aiden, Charly, and Ava.
Evelyn previously worked as a clerk at CP Railway at the Saint John Port and devoted many years to volunteering at the Better Business Bureau. She was always up to playing board games with her family from Pictionary to Touring.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). At Evelyn’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
