Celebration of Life
Obituary of Clarice Edwina "Winnie" Bennett
The loved ones of Clarice Edwina “Winnie” Bennett are heartbroken to announce her passing which took place on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 16, 1943 in Port Hawkesbury, NS, she was a daughter of the late John James and Mary Georgina (LeBlanc) Ryan.
Winnie devoted her life to raising a very busy household and would not have had it any other way. She was a woman who tried her very best to make those around her feel welcome, comfortable and happy. Times spent with her Jerry, whatever they got up to, those moments were precious to Winnie. She enjoyed singing, loved her country music and was always up for a game of bingo.
Winnie will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Michael Jeremiah “Jerry” Bennett; children, Edward Ryan, Michael Jeremiah “Junior” Bennett (Nicole), Kimberley Ann Wells (John), Michelle Lee Bennett (Eli Sprague) and Derek Ryan Bennett (Sherie); siblings, Charlie, Hubert, Lonnie, Mae, Alphonse, Kenneth, Rita, Jean, Adeline and Diane along with their significant others; grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Cassandra, Dakota, Cidney, TJ, Bradley and Jade; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Maximus; several nieces and nephews; best friends, John and Marilynn Pridham; the entire Pridham park family; very special chosen family member, Edward Singleton; as well as Marie and Johnny McKinnon. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Michael James Bennett and siblings, Betty, Michael and Melvin.
Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life which will take place from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 12:00 PM.
For those who wish, remembrances made to the Alzheimer Society of NB or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
