Obituary of Joan Marie Myers
It is with broken hearts that the family of Joan Myers, beloved wife of Ray Myers, announce her passing which occurred on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born on December 6, 1937 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Walter Vincent and Mary Agnes (King) Breen.
Joan was a graduate of St. Vincent’s and went on to further her education at teacher’s college. She always took great comfort in her Catholic faith and was very active within her church community. She was a proud spiritual director and enjoyed her time overseeing the marriage and teen encounter programs, organizing retreats and participating with the CWL along with various other church programs. Joan was an artist, a lover of music (especially anything by Patsy Cline), a singer and a woman who enjoyed spending time at her beloved Washademoak Lake property. Most of all, she treasured the times of family togetherness and especially adored the precious moments with her grandchildren who were her world. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her devoted husband of 65 years, Ray, Joan will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gary Myers (Lydia), Steve Myers (Debbie), Rick Myers (Tony), Darren Myers (Linda) and Scott Myers (Sheila); precious grandchildren, Josh (Leslie), Shawn (Mary), Matthew and Sarah; special great-grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail and Jack; brothers, Father Donald Breen and David Breen; sisters-in-law, Brenda Breen and Susan Breen; brother-in-law, Phil Robblee; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Michael Breen (Pauline “Polly”), Bobby Breen, Doug Breen (Anne Marie (Mulder)), Danny Breen and Carol Anne Robblee.
Joan's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Trinity Court at Rocmaura Nursing Home for the exceptional care they always provided.
