Obituary of Philip Burnley Goreham
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Philip B. Goreham which occurred on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Shannex Quispamsis. Born June 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Burnley and Dorothy (Newell) Goreham.
Philip will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie (LeBlanc) Goreham; son Tony Goreham (Sue), daughter Cindy Calvin (Roger); Grandson Trevor Goreham (Katie); Granddaughters Alicia Hayward (Marc), Shyane McKay (Ryan) and Shawna Hanscom (Anthony) as well as seven great grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, Phil is survived by his brothers; Ronald Goreham (Marg) and Norman Goreham (Diane) and his sister Darlene Ross (John) as well as serveral sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, neices and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Phil is predeceased by his sister Linda Soucy and brothers Lee Goreham, Gary Goreham, Robert "Bobbie" Goreham and Allan Goreham.
Phil worked for 34 years as a Marine Engineer on the Princess of Acadia. He was well respected with his colleagues and was often called upon on his time off to come fix a problem on the ship. In Phil's younger days, he was also an avid hunter who enjoyed being in the woods. Phil also was a handy man who could fix just about anything around the house.
Phil's family would like to thank all those involved in his care over the last few years and a special thanks to the staff of the Shannex Embassy Hall, Quispamsis for their kindness and compassion.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Funeral Service will be held in The Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, March 17, 2023, 2:00 PM. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in memory of Philip may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
