Obituary of Eleanor Urquhart
On Friday, March 17, 2023 Eleanor Mae (McSavaney) Urquhart passed away at the Turnbull Nursing Home just eleven days after her husband Stuart. Eleanor was the first born to the late Charles and Lillian (Chapman) on January 11, 1931 in Springhill, NS.
In 1960, Eleanor graduated from the NB Technical Institute with her R.N.A. degree, moved to Ontario to work at the Children’s Hospital and subsequently moved to the Saint John General Hospital where she met her future husband, Stuart. They visited her family in Springhill, NS often as their children were her nieces and nephews who called her Auntie Eleanor.
Eleanor is survived by her brother, James (Shirley) McSavaney of Ottawa; her sisters, Doris and Sandra of Amherst, NS; sisters-in-law, Verna (Ranald) and Alice (Ralph); as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack and sisters, Marjorie, Patsy, June and Joyce.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Turnbull Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care while Eleanor was with them.
