Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Saunders

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Elizabeth “Bette” M. Saunders (nee Harvey) announces her passing on March 30, 2023, at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Fredericton, NB. Bette was born in Saint John, NB on February 14, 1927, and resided there all but the last year of her life. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Martha Lee Saunders of Amherst, NS, Robin E. Saunders (Peter Gee) of Fredericton, NB, and nephew Dr. Greg McCain (Dee & family) of Ont.

Bette was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her daughters have many treasured memories of her. She worked at Glen Falls School for many years, was a lifetime member of the IODE, and was a lifelong member of the Union Club in SJ. Bette enjoyed traveling, crafting, gardening, and helping others. She was a huge pet/wildlife lover.

The family wishes to thank Pine Grove Staff for the great care Bette received while there.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). In keeping with Bette’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
