Obituary of Christina Black
Black: Christina Gertrude
The family of Christina Gertrude Black are saddened to announce her passing at Rocmaura Nursing Home in the morning hours of Monday April 17, 2023. Born on December 21, 1934, in Saint John. She is the daughter of the late Harry and Marie (Delucrey) Little. Beloved wife of the late George Henry Black (1989).
Christina is survived by her sons Chuck Hinsdale (Karen) and Tom Black (Melissa). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Corey, Kurtis, Jenna, Brian and Riley, as well as her great grandchildren Jayden, Ryder, Charlee, Franki, and Zane.
Besides her parents and husband George, Christina was predeceased by her daughter Joanne Creamer (1981) six brothers, Frances, Harold, Joseph, James, Jackie, and Charles, as well as 3 sisters Marjorie Little, Eleanor Horgan and Colleen Mantle.
She is survived by her sister Betty (Elizabeth) Bowes, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris was a quiet happy person always with a smile who enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as time trailering at New River Beach with her husband and in later years her time at Coles Island at the family summer place. She was a member of the CWL, Saint Joseph’s Hospital Auxillary and an Auxillary member of Rocmaura.
Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John, on Friday, April 21st, 2023, at 11am. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A reception at Brenan’s Funeral Home will immediately follow the interment.

The family would like to thank Rocmaura Nursing Home for their kindness, and the wonderful care given to mom during her stay. They were her angels.
