Obituary of Ian Stewart Stanley
STANLEY: Ian Stewart
It is with profound sadness that the family of Ian Stewart Stanley announce his sudden passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 29th, 2023. Born in Saint John on January 30, 1959, he was the beloved son of the late Frank and Grace (nee Hodge) Stanley.
A talented guitar player & artist who touched a million hearts in the Saint John music scene. Ian enjoyed movies, concerts, and collector of some cool memorabilia. He was witty, charismatic , with uncanny ability to recite movie dialogues, musical lyrics and commericals word for word. Through photography he captured many adventures and the most incredible concert pictures. Ian loved to walk the city and put many miles on monthly.
Ian spent 20+ years working at SJ Shipbuilding in his younger years , and moved over to spend the last part of his working career as a service scheduling specialist at Xerox before his retirement in 2019. He will be deeply missed by his family, former coworkers, musicans, and gigantic circle of close friends. Those fortunate enough to know Ian were blessed.
Ian is survived by his nieces Lisa Fudge (Jim) and Angela Gordon (Todd), his nephew Derek Mullett (Jen) and his great nieces & nephews Nicholas Fudge, Samuel Fudge, Brayden Watson, Sally Watson, Hilary Mullett, Clare Mullett and Jack Mullett, his brother-in-law Frederick Mullett; as well as by his special cousins Barry and Joan Hodge, overseas.
Besides his parents, Ian was predeceased by his sister Jill Mullett and his great nephew Gregory Fudge.
