Obituary of Ardith Kaye Thompson
It is with great sadness that the family of Ardith Kaye Thompson announces her passing, which occurred on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Parkland Saint John. Ardith was the daughter of the late Margaret “Rita” (Raymond) Thompson and Harold Thompson.
Ardith is survived by her brother Peter Thompson, nephews Christopher (Melinda) Thompson, James (Anupama) Vicars, and nieces Elizabeth (Brent) Greer, Hillary Weir, Allison Weir, Meredith (Brian) Delaney, Janet, as well as several great-nieces and nephews and many beloved close friends.
Ardith is predeceased by her parents, as well as by siblings Harold, Don and his wife Rina, Betty and her husband Allen Weir, Pat, Marlene, Valerie and her husband Jim Vicars, Diane, and sister-in-law Frances Thompson.
Ardith was an avid world traveler, accompanying her sister Marlene to most countries of the world. Upon retirement, she continued to enjoy extended visits to Barbados each winter. Ardith began her career as a secretary at vocational school directly out of high school before taking up accounting and working at the School Board where she made many friends and was known for her kindness, humor and hard work. Ardith was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She cherished relationships and enjoyed staying in touch, whether over the phone or over a cup of coffee at her kitchen table. Ardith valued the time spent with her brother Peter discussing current events and reminiscences of the past. Her care was felt by all in the many details she thoughtfully remembered about each person she knew. She is very much loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Parkland Saint John for their compassionate care and support.
