Obituary of Frank Ainsworth
With profound sorrow, we announce the death of Frank M. Ainsworth, 73, of Clifton Royal, who passed away peacefully at home on May 9th, beside his beloved wife and best friend of 50 years, Susan.
Frank is survived by his three children, Adam (Angie Ainsworth), Alisa (Will O’Brien) and Cynthia (Mike Magega), his granddaughters, Miya and Pippa, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Phillip Lloyd, his mother, Jeanne Cardinal, his brother Phillip, and his best boy Neeko the chocolate lab.
Frank was born in Saint John on July 20th, 1949. He attended Saint Malachy’s Memorial High School. Then he studied business administration and finance at NBCC and found a rewarding career with Irving Oil, where he met the love of his life, Susan Kenny. They married at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Saint John on September 1st, 1979.
He retired in 2004 after 32 years at Irving Oil Refinery, starting in the finance and accounting department and ultimately as a Day Planner and Yield Supervisor. He also served the community of St. Alphonsus parish in Hampton as chair of the finance and maintenance committees for many years.
Frank was a loyal, generous, dedicated, hard-working, detailed oriented man. He loved helping others, especially his children and was always available to lend a helping hand. Every task was always manageable for Frank; he loved to be involved.
He cherished the simple things in life the most; being outdoors in nature, hunting, and gardening. He took pride in developing and maintaining his beautiful property and worked countless hours turning his dream into reality.
Although only as a hobby, Frank was a talented artist, often turning his passion for nature into beautifully painted artwork. His memory will forever live on in the portraits he made with love for those closest to him.
He remained connected and appreciated his lifelong friends Chris and Cindy, David and Jane, Richard and Faye, Dave and Wendy, and many others.
His family is grateful to the radiation and oncology department at the Saint John Regional hospital and the extra mural palliative care team, who provided him with incredible comfort, grace and compassion in his final moments.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). To honour Frank’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation but rather a private celebration of life to be held on his birthday.
He will forever be loved and missed.
