Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Darrell

With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Mary Elizabeth (Long) Darrell, beloved wife of the late James Robert Darrell of 63 years, announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 13, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lulu (Porter) Long.

Mary will be missed by her sons: Gary, Doug, Don (Joanne) and David; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Bobby, Vera, and Pauline; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her daughter Susan in 1973; great-grandson Dylan; sisters Edith, Marjie, Lois, and Eleanor; brothers Lee, Jack, Chuck and Murray.

Mary loved going out to play Bingo, enjoyed doing crosswords, going out to the Irving Big Stop for a nice meal and cherished her TV game shows.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7425). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
