Obituary of Sharon Lynn Maguire
Maguire: Sharon Lynn (nee Melvin)
Peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, June 9th, 2023, Sharon Lynn Maguire (nee Melvin) passed away at the age of 79. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on November 19th, 1943, Sharon was the beloved daughter of the late Loring and Annetta Melvin (nee Ferguson). Beloved wife and best friend of over 60 years to Bill Maguire.
Cherished and much loved mother of Jeffrey Maguire (Tracey), Joel Maguire (Joanne), and Kristi Maguire (Calvin Hamilton). She will always be remembered by her grandchildren Shannon Maguire, Daniel Maguire, Matthew Maguire, and her great grandson Elliot Maguire. Sharon was predeceased by one sister, four brothers and is survived by her brother Art Melvin, sister Joan Melvin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sharon had a passion for music that stemmed from her love of entertaining and connecting with others. She very much enjoyed singing with her husband Bill playing guitar at her side, both at family gatherings and with their band throughout New Brunswick. She also enjoyed engaging with others as a member of the Valley Cruisers Car Club. In her professional life, Sharon was an administrator with the town of Quispamsis for many years, after which she worked alongside her son Jeff in his financial services practice.
Sharon will be forever missed by all who loved her and will be remembered daily for her positive outlook and for the support, love and encouragement that she gave to everyone that knew her.
