Obituary of Daryl McAfee Morrison
Daryl McAfee Morrison passed into his heavenly home on Sunday, September 24, 2023, age 89, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Ann (Bustin); sons, Peter (Kathy) and Stephen (Donna); seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear brother-in-law, Bob Bustin (Peggy); sister, Marianne White (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. Daryl was the son of the late Donald and Frances (Earle) Morrison and was also predeceased by brothers, Don and George and sister, Agnes Collins.
Daryl enjoyed boating on the river, travelling the world with Ann and summering at their Crystal Beach cottage. He retired as an electrician from Irving Paper, as did both his boys.
He was an active member of Waterloo Baptist and Hillcrest Baptist Churches, where he and Ann established and ran the Caring Closet for many years. They also spent 17 happy years as snowbirds in Florida.
The family enjoyed holidays and birthday gatherings filled with love and laughter around the table at Crystal Beach, Saint John and Westfield.
We would like to thank the staff of floors six and seven at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their exceptional care of and compassion for Daryl.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Hillcrest Baptist Church (476 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John) on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to Hillcrest Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
