Obituary of Allan LeRoy Bond

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Allan LeRoy Bond, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 5th, 2023.

Born at the Saint John General Hospital on May 5th, 1942, to Arthur Bond and Margaret (Lyons) Bond, both of whom are predeceased.

Al leaves behind his partner and companion of over 53 years, Helen, and daughter Brimalea. Al also had a son David (Cora) of Saint John. Al had four siblings, Arthur Bond, Robert Bond, Nancy White, and James Bond (predeceased). Al also leaves behind many other friends and relatives.

Al worked most of his life at a variety of jobs. He worked at the port, the drydock, the City of Saint John, Kiersteads Flower Shop, C.F.B. Gagetown, and also as a taxi driver.

In later years Al drove school bus #43 for District 6 on the Kingston Peninsula for 12 years, and then drove a trolley for Aquila Tours for the cruise ships for another 12 years. Al enjoyed going to Rhodas Flea market with Brimalea and Helen on Sundays to meet old friends and new friends.

Most of all Al enjoyed going to car shows. He had a passion for cars and went to many Valley Cruisers car shows with his antiques. He had many cars over the years. He really enjoyed taking our 61 Chrysler Newport and 76 dodge truck to the shows.

Al was most happy behind the wheel. He was well liked by many. He was a father, brother, neighbor, and a friend. He was a good man.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, December 14, 2023, beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
