I first met Lyla at Barnhill School. The most gentle and unique person. We often exchanged quotes from her then favourite movie, Austin Powers.

Leo and Summer so very sorry to read today of Lyla's struggle. I remember the little girl that was seen with her sometimes concerned mom and her quiet dad. Your message re all that she accomplished in life is so very touching even to somebody who hasn't seen you for many years. However not surprising when you think of who her parents are. God bless you both and remember this life is often too short but then we join those we love who happened to go on ahead of us. There will undoubtedly be some tough days when little things trigger some special memory but the good memories will certainly result in smiles and tears of joy rather than sorrow. God bless you both.

Your call on Thursday was such a shock! of all the things I was expecting to hear, it wasn't that Lyla was sick. All I could see as you were talking was the little pink bundle that Summer gave me on the day you all came home from the hospital.
She was so beautiful - I didn't want to give her back! Over the past few days, I've been remembering her first smile, first step, first word - and I still say it was V. I remember her first birthday, she was so excited with the balloons!
She was precious - you raised an awesome young woman. Lyla accomplished so much in her short time with us and that is all due to your guidance and encouragement. Thank you for sharing Lyla with us.
There are going to be sad times ahead, but remember, she's safe and well; there is no more pain and most of all she is her happy self again and I wouldn't be at all surprise if Uncle Edward isn't keeping an eye on her.
Remember her words to you both "Mom & Dad, take care of each other, I love you. Thank you for loving me."
Our love & prayers are with you both. Know that we are always here for you. All Our Love, Vera & Julia

V & Julie, We are so grateful to you for adopting us as an extended family. We also hope Lyla and Uncle Edward are getting caught up over a nice cup of tea. Thank you for reminding us to follow Lyla’s wise advice.
If you believe that Lyla’s first word was V, we would be pleased to agree. Summer & Leo

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Coyle. I did not have what would have been the pleasure of knowing your precious Lyla but I wanted you to know that your tribute obituary to her is beautiful. Even though I never met Lyla, through your words I feel as if I have. I am saddened by the loss here on earth of your incredible daughter but you will be reunited in Heaven, where you will never have to say good-bye again. I am going to give a donation to the IWK in remembrance of Lyla because I think that it what she would want - for people to pay it forward.
