Remember Gordie when we lived on the West side, at the Church of the Good Shepherd and at work at NBTel. He always had a great smile and a positive attitude. Gord really enjoyed woodworking and I gave him some birdseye maple from which he made a number of pens and whistles. He gave one whistle to our daughter and a pen to me which I still have. Our condolences to Andrea, Kelly, Kathryn and all of his family

We were so sorry to learn of Gordie's passing. He and his wife, Avis, were our neighbour's for many years at Mahogany Island Crt., before their move to Rothesay. We were sorry to see them go. Gordie would often take the neighbourhood children for fun rides on his golf cart around the island. They loved that; sometimes allowing them to steer! He always had a smile on his face, and a great laugh. He enjoyed time with us adults too, catching up, sharing stories and having the occcasional cold one! Miss you friend, may you rest in peace. What a man Gordie was!! My condolences to all his family. I first met Gord and Avis when they were considering a move from west Saint John out to the valley. I was so fortunate to be their realtor at the time and convinced Gord he would love living at Chapel Hill. They became my neighbors and everyday while Avis was at work, Gord's job was to go in his wheelchair to do the errands and visit with all the neighbors who were out going for a walk. The love and devotion he showed to Avis was so beautiful to see. A beautiful smile, this wonderful caring family man will always be remembered by those who were fortunate to know him. Blessings to you all. Heather Mabey

To the Family
I knew Gordie when I worked at NB Tel in the 1970’s. He was a great co-worker and always maintained a positive attitude. As well, for years there were many outings with Gord and Avis and others throughout the years. Having relocated in 1980, I did touch base base occasionally in the ensuing years. They were indeed great friends and a pleasure to have been acquainted with both of them.
Sincere condolences to all family members.

To Gords family,
I knew Gord very well from our days at NBTel and he was a real gentleman. I would meet him on many occasions on the way in to work in the mornings.
I could never get over how determined Gord was to go to work when so many others with his disability would just give up. Just a great guy. May you rest in peace Gord.

I worked with Gord at NBTel for many years and on numerous projects. We spent what seemed like 6 months but was probably 6 weeks together in a conference room with other colleagues doing the business case for the STARS project in 1982. Gord’s enthusiastic smile and humour certainly added a lot to this time spent. Also had the pleasure of going on a business trip with Gord, maybe to Florida, on which Avis came along as well. All memorable occasions. My condolences to Gords’ family. My thoughts are with you.

Our deepest condolences to you and your family.
When our daughter Madelyn began working at Kings Way, Gordie always made sure to tease her and offer her chocolate snacks.
My fondest memory of him was that up until I was in high school, he was just Uncle Gordie, but one afternoon when he brought you guys over to visit, he saw me and cousin Mark tossing the football. He came over and proceeded to drill perfect spirals to us from 30 yards away. Totally shocked us!
Take care.

Our deepest condolences to the Hills offspring from Florida. I've known Gordie most of my life. We both worked at NBTel and I can never recall a time when Gordie never had a smile. I recall being at the Co-op on Fairville Blvd many years ago when I was at the gas pump with a Corvette. Gord asked if his daughter could sit in the car. I plunked her in and told her she could do anything but drive it. I don't know whether she still remembers that day or not. We also visited Gord at Kingsway but not often enough. What I didn't know was of his interest in water skiing. That topic never came up in conversation. May you reflect on the wonderful memories!

I was a neighbor of Gord's in Wesgate Park. He was a great guy to work with at NBTel and well liked by all. I got a drive to work with him many times over the years. It was always a race with Don Jamer if we met at the toll booth at the harbour bridge. Gord had a great laugh and attitude about life. I have placed a link for the Brenan's web site on the NBTel Alumni Facbook page. I am sure many will be sorry to hear the news of his passing, ( Gary )

Andrea, Kelly, and Kathy, (and family circle)
My sincere condolences thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. My prayer is that you will find joy in the memories and comfort in the prayers.
I know we lived away for so many years but I do have fond memories of drives in his purple car as a young girl. He used to let go of the steering wheel and I thought that was so cool! I would always say “do it again uncle Gordie do it again” and then he would laugh lol.
Say hi to aunt Avis and my dad too!
