Obituary of Jamie Davis
It is with broken hearts that the family of James Gordon “Jamie” Davis of Saint John, cherished husband of Patty (McGrath) Davis, announce his untimely passing which occurred on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 5, 1962 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Gordon and Sally (LeBlanc) Davis.
In his earlier years, Jamie and Patty were lessees of Loch Lomond Road Irving where service was everything. He continued his working career with Leon’s where he built great relationships and then found his calling at Dobbelsteyn’s Special Care Home where everyone was family. Jamie loved sports and especially enjoyed a round of golf with his best buddies, a family game of pickleball and of course cheering on his beloved Boston Bruins (#63), Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Most of all, he took great comfort in his faithful family and loved creating memories with his precious family and dear friends.
In addition to his loving wife and best friend, Patty, Jamie will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Leanne Skerry (Kyle), Kristin Davis (Mike) and Jillian Davis (Jason); sister, Pam Cossey (Jim); brother, Vincent Davis (Shelly); two wonderful grandchildren who were his world, Grayson James Skerry and Anna Patricia Skerry; uncles, Ronald Davis and Donald Davis; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his special in-laws, Herbert and Leatha (Weston) McGrath.
Jamie’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mackin, Dr. Love and Dr. O’Brien along with the nurses “the angels” at the SJRH Palliative Unit for the exceptional care provided to Jamie and his family in his final days. A special thank you to the loving extramural Tammy for her kindness and concern. To the oncology nurses, to nurse Pam and to Dr. Gray…thank you all for everything. Also, thank you to Dr. Griffin for her tender care and guidance and to Father Stephen Mawhinney and Kelly Hudson-Lewis for the spiritual attention and comfort that each of you provided.
