Obituary of Marjorie Joan Cummings
It is with broken hearts that the family of Marjorie “Marge” Joan Cummings of Saint John, wife of the late Beverley “Bev” Cummings, announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on November 9, 1937 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Sadie (Fisher) Lockhart.
Marjorie always looked forward to the times spent with her family. She was a strict mother, but the household was certainly always filled with love. As her family grew and grandchildren started to arrive, Marjorie was delighted in her new role as Nanny. She was even more thrilled once the grandchildren started having babies of their own and she enjoyed every moment possible with her precious great-grandchildren. Marjorie was skilled at cross-stitching, was known for her jokester ways and was famous for sticking her tongue out in photos. In her earlier years, she was employed at various department stores throughout the city before going to work at Red Rose Tea and finally finishing her career at the Telegraph Journal. She will be greatly missed.
Marjorie will forever be lovingly remembered by her children, Rosemary Cummings (Mike), Susan Cummings, Carolyn Cummings, Dawn Barnett, Darlene Farrer (Mark) and David Cummings (Tamara); grandchildren, Alicia (Gus) and children, Logan and Allysa; Tabatha (Rob); Catherine (Justin); Nathan and children, Cruz, Benji and Quinn; Hayley and children, Connor, Ryelee and Ava; Jordan (Marie) and children, Riley and Aaron; Andrea (Danny) and daughter, Beverley; Bradley (Julie); Chelsea (Chandler); Kendra (Noel) and son, Benjamin; Ryan (Katie), Shelby (Addison); Kyra and Evan; brothers, Ronald Lockhart, David Lockhart, Gordon Lockhart (Ferne) and Kenneth Lockhart; sisters, Mary Breau and Gloria Furlong; sister-in-law, Helen Lockhart; as well as many nieces and nephews.
