Obituary of Kimberly Dawn Magee

It is with heavy hearts and immeasurable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kim (Sully) Magee.

Kim was born in Saint John on January 13th, 1974, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Donna (Evans) Sully. Kim was a graduate of Saint Vincent’s High School and received her Bachelor Arts Degree from UNBSJ in 1996. She received her Bachelor of Business degree in Human Resource/Marketing from UNBSJ in 2017. Kim was employed by the Department of Justice and Public Safety, client services and family court division. She was a member of the Saint John Power Boat Club, Union Club, and past member of the Saint John Police Museum.

Family and friends were what Kim valued the most. She lived her life to the fullest through spending time sharing stories, adventures, and most of all, laughs. If you went uptown during the weekend, you would be sure to run into Kim and share a moment with her. Kim loved her ‘regular weekends’. Both she and Frank are known uptown staples, regular patrons of several establishments including the City Market, O’Leary’s, Thandi’s, Picaroons and The Five and Dime just to name a few. Kim also enjoyed her many trips to Toronto with Frank to either cheer on the Maple Leafs or the Blue Jays, and attend concerts, as Kim loved music (especially the New Kids on The Block).

During the summer, Kim would spend her time out on their boat, with Frank as ‘Captain’ and Kim as the ‘First Mate’. Her time spent on the water with her boating friends was a special time for her.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Frank Magee; sister Tracy (Scott) Craig, brother Jason (Corry Toole) Sully, brothers-in law Mark (Shanna Partridge) Magee, Mike (Natalie Arsenault) Magee, and sister-in-law Terri-Lynn Magee Akerley. Treasured nieces and nephews: Parker, Daryl and Renee, William and Lillian, Daxton and Kieran, Andrew, Haillea and Gabriellia. Kim was also survived by her beloved aunts, cherished cousins who were as close to her as siblings, and her mother and father-in- law, Terry and Pat Magee, who she loved dearly.

To say that everyone who knew Kim loved her, is an understatement. If you were fortunate enough to have had the chance to meet Kim, you had made a friend for life. The profound absence she has left is a testament to everyone she has touched with her love, laughter, and above all, kindness. We love you, Kitty.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 17th from 2-8 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, April 18th at 11:00 am in the Brenan’s Chapel, followed by reception. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  For those who wish, donations in Kim’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice.
