Sharing our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Irving. Kimberly and I are joined by our children in our love for both Mr. and Mrs. Irving. It was an honour to serve as their pastor for four years at Saint John First Wesleyan Church. We were blessed by their hospitality, kindness, community involvement and generosity. We will always cherish the times we gathered with them in their home and in Bouctouche along with their encouragement following Sunday worship gatherings. We are praying for you as a family and thankful for you as you carry their legacy forward.

To All members of the Irving Family...Our deepest and sincere condolences on the passing of your dear Father JK Irving. Other than KC, no other New Brunswicker achieved such greatness in everything he touched. JK worked very hard to achieve everything he wanted. His work ethics were legendary and above and beyond reproach. He cared and was concerned about everyone in his orbit. Anyone who ever met JK knows his word was his honor and honorable deeds are the memories all New Brunswickers share upon the passing of JK. Our hopes and prayers are with all members of the Irving family to achieve great things like JK. KC would be exceptionally proud of JK for all his accomplishments and for all family members mourning. Peace and love to ALL members of the distinguished Irving family. Malcolm Thorne, Gatineau, Qc

Mr Irving was the most impressive man I ever had the honour of working for. It is easy to be a good boss when things are going well, but it is only in more difficult times that a true leader shines through. In the late 1980's, when we were driving hard to overcome the obstacles in the earlier days of the CPF program, Mr Irving's support, encouragement and sometimes patience, were.infinite. His first words were always "What can I do to help?"
He always required absolute adherence to the highest standards of personal ethics and professional resposibility, with no pressure to take short cuts. He showed the same level of respect to every employee, without regard to rank or status. He knew just when to push, and when to put an arm on a shoulder. He always welcomed (and demanded) being told the unvarnished truth, not some sugar coated version that someone thought he might want to hear.
As a teacher and mentor, he was constantly and consciously developing the skill and experience base of all who worked for him. In times of difficult decision making, the normal refrain of all involved was "What would JK do?"
Our condolences to the family; he will be sorely missed.

No single description can properly describe the life and legacy of JK Irving.
At JD Irving he was instinctive by nature, a visionary, taskmaster, mentor, and shrewd manager; all of which made it a great pleasure with whom to have worked for so many years.
As someone with roots in our community he was invested in the success of children and youth, through involvement with, and sponsorship of, activities that fostered their growth into well rounded, responsible, and successful adults.
His dedication to family was an example of the importance of that foundation in life.
In all of these respects he was to us, a most remarkable man, a man who will always be remembered, and whose example will be sorely missed.

JK Irving was an inspiration to all of us at the Bouctouche Farmers' Market. He was a true partner from the early beginnings in 1999 and throughout the reconstruction process after the fire in 2015 and up to the present. We are celebrating the 25th season in 2024 and are forever grateful for his immeasurable support.
His leadership and vision for the Town of Bouctouche sets the bar high for us to continue his legacy. He was truly engaged in all of the key elements in making this community a very special place. He led by example and rolled up his sleeves to get things done.
The legacy of JK and with his beloved Mrs Jean Irving is highly visible and can be felt throughout Bouctouche. Through their investment and leadership, they have built and contributed to:
- KC Irving Park and public waterfront greenspace
- Irving Arboretum, Elizabethan Gardens and Irving Chapel
- Irving Eco-Centre, la dune de Bouctouche
- Sawmill Point Boat Basin & Park
- Extensive trail system connecting Bouctouche and the Dune Centre
- JK Irving Multi-functional Centre
- The Bouctouche Farmers’ Market (built twice !)
and much more ...
I will miss our conversations and your words of wisdom, but will cherish the memories and honor your legacy to keep making your family proud of our special corner of the world.

He has made a difference to numerous young people in our community through various initiatives , notably PALS. He was a key supporter in causing a new school being approved in the South End of our City and current and former residents will be forever grateful.
His advice and support of his group of companies - notably those in the Transportation sector - have been and continue to be key success factors in the global reemergence of Port Saint John.
