Our sincere condolences from Ontario. Many fond memories with David. We lived on the same street, on Longbourne crescent and David taught our children at Hanover. I personally worked as a lunchroom supervisor at Hanover. He was awesome and my kids who are now adults were fortunate to have been his students. They remember the after school games to which he created and his personal commitment with connecting with his students. We just found out of his passing Aug. 29th. Very sad to hear and our condolences to Amanda and the children.

My deepest condolences go out to the family of who I knew as Mr. Lumini, one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever had. I was in his 2016-2017 Grade 5 class, one of the best years I experienced at Hanover. I will never forget the way he never failed to make every one of us smile with his amazing sense of humour and passion for teaching. I frequently think back to how he would always go out of his way to buy our entire class full sized chocolate bars of our choice (unless we misbehaved, then we would be given the worst chocolate ever, Big Turk). The games of class Family Fued between table groups are unforgettable, and I still remember how you humorously reacted to all of our silly and nonsensical answers. And how can I forget about Kung Fu Math? That single-handedly changed the way I learned my times tables for sure. Of course, only the best teacher was able to ensure that I was always on the highest rank! Mr. Lumini will be missed by many of us who absolutely loved him. I wish that he will be able to look at where all of us who he has taught and see how far we’ve all come. Rest in Peace, Mr. Lumini.

I hope you’re reading this over the shoulders of your loved ones sir.
If there was a figure who embodied the phrase “live life to the fullest”, it would be you in every sense of the term. It is with honour that I got the chance to attend your 3rd grade class (for like half the year), and your 5th grade class of 2015-16. You never got the chance to see where we are in life but we’re doing amazing. We’re all here sir. Probably should go on a whim now and say I should’ve spoiled Batman v Superman when I got the chance too. I probably should’ve sang a little louder because I really do have such a great voice singing Carol of the Bells. Should’ve found more cicadas when we went on our trips. Could’ve laughed a little harder during each BFF video at every assembly.
But I’m not here to fill you in on my regrets, but more so to thank you for teaching us about how unserious life should be. And that teaching should be fun and you really did make it fun.
My thoughts and condolences are with David Lumini’s family.
May we reminisce on the good times on the other side. Thank you for everything.

My thoughts and condolences are with David Lumini's family at this time. Mr. Lumini was my teacher at Hanover P.S, from 2015-2016. He was a legend around the school and I was lucky to have him as my teacher in grade 5. I'll always remember having spirited debates over which Pokemon is the strongest in the verse and his intense obsession when putting together our class' winter concert performance of "Carol of the Bells." He never failed to make the class laugh with his quick wit, strange stories, and humour. I spent a lot of time trying to be as funny as him. He was a great man and role model for me. May he rest in peace.

Dear Amanda, Megan and Alexander,
Our deepest condolences. George, Alessandro, Tatiana, Marilena and I are heartbroken to hear of David's passing. We have many memories of David but some that come to mind right now are the fun work Christmas parties we participated in together! I will also never forget the attention and detail David put in planning and organizing the children's birthday parties. He was an incredible chef! He truly was a doting father and husband. And of course, I will miss his awesome sense of humour :)
Sending you all the love in the world.

Mr Lumini taught both of my children - Petra & Nathan Woods - at Hanover. He was a great influence on both of them! He did so much for all of his students, but we were blessed to be a part of his teaching journey! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

My condolences to the family and everyone reading this ♥️ I was lucky enough to have been taught by Mr. Lumini at Hanover Public School. I'm sad to hear of his passing.
I will always remember the bunny rabbit I called "Mr. Fidget" Lumini gave me. The little guy brought so much joy to my life and I'm thankful for David's thoughtful gestures.

Hi Amanda, I thought I would share a couple quick memories, first I remember when David worked at the convience store on the east side SJ during University, the owner left expired meat telling David to leave it because someone would buy it for their pet, of course he didn't sell it and if I remember right he made sure it wouldn't be sold, always with a smile when he told me.
Second I remember when he first met you and you two started dating, I never thought for a guy who smiled all the time and made University work always less stressful, could get an even bigger smile when telling about you and how great you are, best way to describe it would be getting your lotto ticket checked to find out you won 1 million dollars.
And Finally 3rd thing, I was talking to him at school some animated shows I was watching, in which he replied ahhh those are ok but you're missing out on the good ones of anime, so he lent me Ninja Scrolls the movie, and to my wife's eye rolls, lol , I am still watching anime, that one thing stayed with me for over the last 25 years which tells you the positive affect he always had on people.
I don't remember him ever not smiling and was always the calming influence for us in school, he will def be missed but always remembered for all of his positive contributions to us all!!!!!
Sincerely,
Brian Lockhart

David was a classmate so many years ago at Bayside Junior High. Yes, he WAS an expert in all things Nintendo and I can remember him talking at great lengths about Zelda in particular. He really loved his NES. I also remember David being very intelligent. David and I once partnered on a science project together to experiment on the effects of acid rain on plants. He was meticulous and easily understood what needed to be done (to my good fortune). I’m very sorry to hear of his passing. It is difficult to understand how or why but it is easy to understand his love for his family. I wish you all peace and love as you navigate this very difficult time. Take care of one another. Love Sean

Dear Amanda, Alexander and Megan, I taught with David for the 15 years that he was at Hanover. He had such a special way to make me smile and help brighten my day during some of the crazy days at work. He was always happy to help in events like Terry Fox, Track & Field, Play Day, and the Bike Rodeo. It would make me chuckle every time he decided to wear his ‘bow ties.! I remember one of the funniest times was when we had a scooter board race down the hallway! Please try to cherish all of your precious moments that you had. You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

Amanda and family, my deepest sympathies. My heart goes out to you and your children at this time. I am sitting at my desk at work this Monday morning having Kendra just inform me of Davids passing ... wondering how to articulate my thoughts and emotions right now. Luckily its early enough that no one else is here so I can cry in relative peace.
There is little I can say to indicate how special he was as you already know since you lived with him for so many years. He was a steadfast and loyal friend, full of laughter and joy and I have missed his companionship over the last number of years. I will always remember the fun we had in classes at UNB as well as all the times we played SNES and basketball together, or just hung out eating pizza, renting games from blockbuster and playing pool and Warhammer at Michaels. I still tell my kids a number of stories about some of our escapades and outings. One of my favorites was playing cards with his mother as he was late getting home from work ... we played rummy, I believe, for an hour or so when he finally showed up. He was extremely apologetic to me at having to endure his mother for such a long time ... and to be fair I teased him alot for that. But it wasn't that bad, she was really nice for keeping me company while waiting.
Just filtering through some of those memories ... we had a lot of great fun together and I will miss him ... more so now.
