Obituary of William N. Asselstine
It is with deep sadness that the family of Bill Asselstine announces his passing on July 18th, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family at his side. Bill was born in Saint John New Brunswick, a son of the late John and Edwina Asselstine
Bill was a hardworking individual who dedicated 35 years to Irving Oil, and living his life on the beautiful Kingston Peninsula. He was a provider to his family and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Bill leaves behind his wife Mary Edna, sister-in-law Karen, sons; Billy (Judy), and Jeff (Susie), daughter Sherri (Tom), step-sons; Kenny (Anne Marie), and Jay (Kate). He also leaves behind his 3 granddaughters; Rebecca, Emma (Braeden), and Emily (Ethan), and 3 grandsons; Matthew, Billy Joe, and Gordon. Bill is predeceased by his parents John and Edwina, brothers; Bob, Alfred, John, and Charlie, sisters; Eleanor, Dawn, and his wife Sue Asselstine.
The family would like to thank Dr. Emily Love and the staff of 3BN for their care and compassion in Bill’s final days.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Resting at Brenan's, visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM, with interment in the Kingston Baptist Cemetery to follow. For those unable to attend the service, please join the family via livestream.
For those who wish, donations to the Saint John Regional Hospital Kidney Dialysis Unit, or the Alzheimers Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.brenansfh.com.
