Obituary of Charles Clarence Morgan
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Clarence Morgan “Chuck” age 85 which occurred at his home after a brief illness on July 20th, 2024.
Born on August 30th, 1938, in Conception Bay, Newfoundland to the late Clarence and Beatrice (Richardson) Morgan. At age 16 Charles later ventured out to Nova Scotia where he joined the Army (Black Watch) after 3 years he was medically discharged. Charles met his wife Beverleigh (Shanks) Morgan of 66 years in Saint John NB and together they raised their four children Richard, Timmy, Shelley, Brenton and their granddaughter Jana as one of their own.
Charles enjoyed life, he loved his family especially his two dogs Leelah, and Sophie. In his downtime, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he coached the broomball team NBTel. He could light up a room with his presence and could tell a good Newfie joke.
Charles was employed at the Saint John Dry Dock for 47 years where he worked as a fabricator and welder. He was also an entrepreneur and owned his own store and restaurant “Buds Variety” for 8 years.
Charles is survived by his wife, Beverleigh Morgan; children, Richard Morgan (“Dee Dee”), Shelley Hache (Peter), Brenton Morgan (Lucrecia); siblings, Sharon Murphy (Brian), David Morgan (Joanne), Georgie Mc Carthy (Larry); 9 grandchildren, Jana Miller (Chris), Devin Duplisea (Sarah), Joey Hache (Elizabeth), Katelyn Enos (Nick), Kayla Rowe-Richards (John), Julianna Morgan, Kevin Morgan, Krystal Morgan, Tony Morgan (Stacey) and many great-grandchildren.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Beatrice Morgan; son, Timothy Morgan; stepmother, Marg; sister, Shirley Chabot; daughter-in-law, “Dee Dee” Morgan.
The family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to Charles’s favourite caregiver, Emma Kenel for having such an impact on his life.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradice Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from the Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, July 25, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Barnesville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Donations are appreciated in memory of Charles to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Diabetes Association.
