Mac Estey posted a condolence
Thursday, August 1, 2024
My condolences to the Lynch family. I was saddened and shocked to learn that the "boating accident guy" was my friend Brian Lynch from our basketball days in the mid 1960's. Brian was a good player, he was big, he was strong, was a great rebounder, but most of all, he was kind. Later on in our adult lives we both had offices in the central/south, and when we would meet on the street, we would always have a brief chat, and he always inquired about my two basketball playing brothers, Dick and Peter, who had both moved away after school. Regretfully both my brothers have since passed on, but I am sure they will greet Brian to basketball in heaven. RIP Brian Lynch, a kind man.
Sincerely, Mac Estey

My sincere condolences to the Lynch family on the sudden passing of Brian. My late husband Jim also worked at CRA for his entire career.
Jim always spoke SO highly of Brian over the many years they knew one another. Both Jim and Brian graduated from UPEI in 1971. Over the years they would talk about how they started at St. Dunstan’s and graduation was from UPEI.
May this note of condolence bring you comfort and may prayers ease the pain of your loss.

My condolences to the Lynch and Savage families on the sudden and unexpected passing of Brian. Brian's parents Marjorie and Gerry were my Godparents and i spent many memorable childhood experiences with the Lynch family.
I last saw Brian along with Philip when they had come to pay respects at my sister Nancy's wake in March 2018 just a few weeks after the passing of my sister Theresa when I had come down from Ottawa.
Sorry I'm not able to attend the celebration of life as I had just returned to Ottawa a few weeks ago after staying at my cottage in Chapel Grove for the month of June. I shall sign in to the live stream tomorrow.

Dear Kari, Lenny, and members of the Lynch Family
My deepest condolences on the death of Brian. I knew Brian from CRA. He was always a gentleman, kind, respectful and honest. A man with integrity. He cared about his employees and fellow employees. I remember one snowy Friday afternoon he came out of his office to ensure that all the auditors that week who were in the field had safely made it back safely to Saint Saint. He cared about us. He wanted the best for us. He was highly respected and liked.
May memories of Brian bring you peace and comfort.

Dear Kathy and family I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Brian’s passing. We met playing basketball and rugby in high school and on the Trojans , and often had contact over the years . On the field he was a great player and teammate, and off the field he was a man of grace, sincerity and Iintelligence . And I might add, he had a great laugh and sense of humour. He was one of those special people who you always felt better off for having been in his presence. A rare person. I will miss him. My heart goes out to his family.

Kathy, Kari, Mark and all of the extended Lynch family, I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Brian’s unexpected passing. Brian was an outstanding human being. From my earliest childhood memories of playing pick-up hockey and basketball in the old CYO neighbourhood on Cliff Street and later playing high school basketball, Brian commanded a deep admiration and respect from everyone who knew him. He was an inspirational role model for all of us. Kathy, I was so pleased to reconnect with him through you, during our years at Island View School. I particularly enjoyed his entertaining e-mails recounting his adventures on the Camino - what an amazing achievement! I was fortunate to be a teammate of Brian's in 1967 on one of the earlier New Brunswick Boys' Provincial Basketball teams, brought together as part of Canada's Centennial year festivities. Brian and Tom Barry were on that team from St. Malachy's, my cousin and I were from St. Stephen, and other very talented teammates were selected from all around the province. Even then, as a high school student, Brian was a wonderful person and teammate, open, honest, generous-spirited, unselfish and hard-working. It is clear from the memorial tribute and in reading the various personal comments, that he retained and continued to develop and enhance those characteristics as he grew into adulthood and became a husband, father and dedicated community member. To his family, and to his many friends, I am so very sorry to learn of Brian's passing, and can only wish you my deepest condolences, along with a wish that you will treasure the years that you had with him, and that you will be comforted by the joy that you all shared together.
