Dear Judy, Jamie, David, and extended family,
I was deeply saddened by the news that Beth sent this morning regarding Wayne's passing! Needless to say that I am far from being well informed in my retired and technically challenged years.
I just wanted to say that I sincerely appreciate the friendship that you afforded my parents over the years and the joy that you brought us all when you visited the Miramichi. Wayne was a very kind and brilliant man with a sense of humor unmatched by anyone. I remember back in 1997 when he helped me with a stats assignment while visiting Fredericton and the laughs we shared as I learned from his teaching. This, along with many other acts of his kindness, will never be forgotten.
I hope that you all are healing from this great loss and that the strength of family will bring comfort and peace. If ever you want or need to contact me, please do so at scott.sweezey@hotmail.com
Take care and God bless,
Scott Sweezey

Judy and Sons,
I am so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. I have thought of him often over the years. I took several courses from him in the mid to late ‘80’s and will always remember his kindness and the great amount of knowledge that he had to impart to his students at UNB. He was highly regarded my myself and many of my colleagues at the School of Nursing.
I am thinking of you and know you will hear wonderful stories of the lives he impacted during his school and UNB teaching days.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Ketchum

It is with great sadness I read of Wayne’s passing! My deep condolences to the entire Hare family. Wayne was the guidance councillor at MNHS when I attended and later in life I worked alongside him when he was a consultant for the Saint John Police Force in the training office. During that time we became close friends. He alongside his wife were exceptional bridge players and travelled North America to play. He was such a great person and always with sage advice. Rest in peace Wayne!

So sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Hare had a significant impact on my life long career. I graduated from MNHS in 1976 and immediately went into the workforce.
Three years later, I returned to the school to ask Wayne what career path I should take.
I stated I didn’t want university. He said go to NBCC and take Instrumentation.
I did this and never looked back.
An excellent guidance councillor
