To Bruce, Beth, Scott & family,
I was just informed of Barb’s passing this evening, from another retired school district employee. I’m so saddened to hear this news. My condolences go out to you & your family. I worked with Barb @ School District office on Lancaster Ave., from June 1980 to 1997. I was in the Payroll Dept., working with the late Rita Hooley, and Barb sat directly across from me, working along side with the late Kenny Brigden, in the Purchasing Dept. I remember working also with you, Beth, as you worked in the computer room. So many great memories & laughs were shared over all of those years. It was such a busy office & we all needed the comic relief to keep us going. Barb provided that so well & her laugh was one of a kind. The last time I saw Barb was when the whole gang of us girls, who formerly worked at the District Office, decided to get together up at Saint John Marina in June, a year or two ago. We had a blast & laughed and talked the whole time. Food was awesome too. Artie Donaldson made an appearance as well. We had perfect weather & a perfect night. It was a great memory that all of us will never forget. Rest in peace, Barb.

I.came late into Barbs life . We were neighbors for a few years before I really got to know her, but for the time I did get to spend with her I loved her as a friend. Never one to be at a loss for words or to give her opinion is what made her so special to me. She was a kind and good friend and I always enjoyed her company. I played sequence with her several times over the last couple of years . It was never about the game ,but more about getting together with neighbors over a glass of wine ( or two), lots of laughs and chocolate . I think she enjoyed those gatherings and there was always great banter between she and Phylis which would send the rest of us in to fits of laughter .
Safe journey my friend . I will miss you .

Very sorry to hear of Barb's passing. Warm memories of simpler times on Wasson Court when all the doors were open and your house was a daily visit. Barb was always so warm and welcoming but I recall one particular instance that has always stayed with me. A cold winter day and a dare to put my tongue on the iron railing at your house and guess what - the myth was true. I was stuck and instantly hysterical. Very clearly remember your Mom (probably chuckling to herself) calmly, gently pouring warm water to get me unstuck and making sure I was OK. Almost like she had done it before. Those were the days. Hope you are all doing OK.

Beth, Scott and Bruce. We are thinking of you with this great loss in your lives. I have a great memory of Barb with her laugh as I was growing up in the Wasson Court gang. In August of 2017 Diane and Howard threw a party at their place. It was attended by Diane's mom and Barb, friends from Wasson court from so long ago. It was a very beautiful get together with lots of laughter and fun. That is how I will remember Barb.
Our sincerest condolences.

Bruce, Beth, Scott and Paddy. This picture of Barb and me was taken at Bobby's Hospice in 2017 when my husband Fred C. Rowe and I were living there (for the last two months of Fred's life) and Barb so kindly asked me to talk to her about Fred. She shared stories of Wasson Court days and my Mum (also Barbara) my Gram as well as her Aunt Sibby. She even bought a "Dave Peddles for Hope" neckerchief to support my brother's cross Canada bike ride to raise money for cancer research. Could it really be seven years since I last saw her? Could it really be fifty years since Scott and I and David and Beth all hung around?
My good friend Mike Campbell who recently died, spoke so fondly of Barb and their days at the school district. I didn't even know they were acquainted until this year. He held her in high regard which is a compliment (well deserved).
I am so sorry for each of you to have lost your Mum, mother-in-law and partner in life. I am so sorry for the tough times ahead of you as you grieve your loss but relish the fine memories of a strong woman from a bygone erra.
.........Mack.......

Bruce, Beth, Scott and family:
Gerri and I are deeply saddened to hear that Barb has passed away. Losing a loved one is never easy.
Not only have you lost a spouse and mother, we have lost a dear friend and beautiful neighbour. This dates back to 2009 when we moved to Quispamsis from Newfoundland.
Barb was so kind to us from day one. She invited us to your gatherings where we were able to meet many of your friends. How can we ever forget her kindness from helping us find a winter rental to giving our grand-daughters specials treats and gifts?
The world has lost one of its nice people. Though Barb has completed her life's journey, she will suffer no more.
We will never forget her kindness and friendship to our family. We certainly will cherish the special memories.
May Barb's kind and gentle soul rest in peace. We will always remember you beautiful lady.
Ted and Gerri Gardner and Family

Steve Mavon here. Barb would call me Pud.
Our families have known each other since the early sixties when my Mom Marilyn and Barb were young mothers and friends managing a pack of five kids all under the age of 4. I am one of the pack and I wanted to share a fond memory of Mom and Barb that has stuck with me all these years.
One afternoon in the early seventies I happened upon a little get together of the young mothers in the neighborhood including Mom and Barb. They were enjoying some wine and some music and a little dancing. It's funny how some stuff sticks with you when you are only 11 and this day was special because they opened with an 8 Track of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Green River" (a bit of the hard stuff), then moved on to Neil Diamond's "Cherry, Cherry" ( a bit softer) and further into Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" (more introspective) and then finally swooning over Tom Jone's "What's New Pussycat?" (speaks for itself). They had a roaring good time and it built the foundation for my iTunes collection today. Thanks Barb, for the terrific memories and farewell my friend! Love, Pud
And to Beth, Scott and Bruce and the kitty, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so sorry for your great loss.

Bruce and family, my sincere condolences for your loss of Barb. When I was a relatively new employee at the board I discovered almost immediately to stay on her best side and what I loved and admired most was her ability to tell you exactly what she thought about most subjects and her and I shared many chuckles as she tried to play the tough guy but it didn’t work with me. lol. I miss that . R.I.P. Barb
