Obituary of Jeffery Joseph Leo Gould

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jeffery Joseph Leo Gould announce his passing, which occurred on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife, Jo Anne and his precious family and dear friends.  Jeff was diagnosed in 2022 with the disease Vasculitis, an illness that took the most valued life in the world from us…much too soon (age 53).  Jeff was born on May 29, 1971 in Saint John, to his very loving and caring parents, Sandra Jean (Stewart) Gould and the late Harold Joseph Leo Gould.

Jeff was a member of LIUNA Local 900 and also enjoyed digging clams.  He was very caring, outgoing and had the biggest of hearts.  He lived and breathed fishing, was a loyal NASCAR fan and loved the outdoors.  He was known for always lending a helping hand and he enjoyed meeting new people and sharing his adventurous lifestyle with them.  Most of all, Jeff looked forward to the times spent with his beloved wife, Jo Anne and with his family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jeff will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife, Jo Anne; sisters, Cindy (Joe) and Heather; brothers, Darren (Medyln) and David (Sam); daughters, Rebecca and Cathline; son, Alex; five grandsons, one granddaughter; four nephews; several, aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his adopted cat, Buddy and Jo Anne’s co-pilot, Mel.  Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Douglas; favourite aunt, Eva; dear friend, Brandon and his canine companion (aka his co-pilot), Wally.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting taking place on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from Brenan’s Chapel at 11:00 AM.  For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Jeff’s obituary on the Brenan’s website.  Interment will take place in Lepreau Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue, Canadian Liver Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.

“Until we meet again…fish on!”
