Dear Rory and family. I am deeply sorry for your great loss. What a girl she was.
She was so happy when she found you. And you continue to make her so happy. It was fun to watch you dancing in the kitchen, laughing and enjoying friends, and it was wonderful to watch her perform. She loved to sing. Her bubbly personality came through in every note and with every smile.
She was a blessing to us all. I’m so sorry

Rory, so sorry to read about Fairlie in this morning’s paper. I know that she has had a long brave struggle. The entire Ervin family will be in our prayers as you deal with your loss.
Kay, I have heard you tell so many stories of the love and joy that Fairlie has brought into your life. How fortunate she was to have had you as her mother during her teen years and adult life. Sending you our love.

“Fairlie Drew McLean drew a fairly nice picture of the McLean family”. I’ve never forgotten her introduction of herself to me, Fairlie and I became fast friends in high school. So many memories…… My all-time favourite and the one we never stopped laughing about happened on a beautiful sunny day in grade 12 I think when we decided to cut class for the first time in our lives. We went to the corner store to buy some candy and then on to Queen Square to lay on the lawn, eat our candy, laugh like we always did and marvel at our bravery. We were not tuned in to the camera crews in the square, just a perfunctory glance and back to our own business. We gathered up our things in time to get back to school and catch our busses home. That evening as our parents watched the 5 o’clock news there we were, laying on the grass while reporters did a piece on the statue in the centre of the square! BUSTED in fine style! I so loved the light that she shone to the world. My life was better for having her in it and I will never, ever forget her.I am so very sorry Rory, Kay and John for your loss

Sincere sympathies at Fairlie's passing. I have wonderful memories of seeing her beautiful smile as she performed with The Sopranos and also her grand voice as we all presented enjoyable concerts as part of The Sopranos musical group. The heavenly choir is richer with her. Rest peacefully.

Fairlee always had a huge smile on- what an indomitable spirit. Love to your family Rory. I will remember Fairlee with great fondness, as a singer and musician. She was so accomplished and yet was quiet and humble about her remarkable abilities, until she was encouraged and invited. I will remember her warmth and friendliness, her laughter and enthusiasm.

Rory, John, and Kay, we are so saddened of passing of dear, sweet Fairlie. She had such a zest for life; her exuberance was so infectious. She lifted everyone up by her laughter, sincerity of heart, and her keen interest in everyone she met. We will hold her memory close to our hearts and will definitively play her CD to hear again that melodious voice that she was gifted. God bless you all.

I met Fairlie upon her diagnosis several years ago while a medical doctor within the 5As Oncology unit. She proved to be an exceptional lady and I believe we hit it off greatly ! We did share common ground as far as the " Fairview Plaza " was concerned being that her father was ownr of the Mclean-Matthews drug store many many years ago. I learned plenty as to strength of character from my dealings with Fairlie and will never forget her. Dr Tom Fournier

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Fairlie’s passing. I knew her when she lived in Michigan. I met her at a workout class and liked her immediately- so sweet and fun. I went to hear her sing at a church concert. We have stayed in touch occasionally through Facebook since she left Michigan. My heart goes out to Rory and her family. She truly was an angel and great friend.
