Obituary of Ann Elizabeth Perry
With sad but grateful hearts, we announce the passing of Ann Elizabeth (Conway) Perry on October 3, 2024, in Saint John, NB.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, and more. Loved by all who knew her, she loved her family deeply and loved to talk about them with whoever she was with. Jack was her teenage sweetheart, and they were married on June 20, 1959, creating a legacy of love and family values. Just the mention of son Kevin or daughter Lynda would bring an immediate smile to her face. When Lynda married her husband Danny, Mom had a son-in-law to love and spoil. In later years, Nanny’s two granddaughters Rebecca and Madison were so precious to her, and she would be in her element spending time with them. To her sister Donna, Ann was “home,” a connection to their late mother, and an anchor throughout their lives.
Mom cherished time spent with family and friends throughout the years. Sunday gatherings and suppers with Lynda and family were always a highlight of her week. She loved simple pleasures such as her weekly visits to Reflections Hair and Aesthetics Studio and always loved her chats with the friendly staff, proudly showing off her shock of pink hair in support of breast cancer awareness. Afterwards, the talk of getting a Junior Chicken from McDonald’s, an Iced Capp from Tim Hortons and / or a coffee milkshake from DQ would always bring a big smile to her face.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband of over 65 years, John “Jack” Francis Perry, son Kevin, daughter Lynda (Danny) Martin, beloved granddaughters Becca and Maddie Martin, and treasured sister Donna (Winston) Fullerton. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Laura Strachan and Leo Conway.
We are deeply grateful for the amazing care that Ann received during her battle with cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Alexandra Ross, Dr. Chris O’Brien, the amazing staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the SJRH and during her brief stay at Bobby’s Hospice. Mom was treated with amazing care and grace, and our entire family is very appreciative. We are also grateful for Monsignor Brian Sheehan, Pastors John Symonds, Adam Brewer and Julie Brewer for their visits and prayers over Mom and family.
