To Brenda & the rest of the Mchugh families, so sorry to hear that Sister Mary has passed away. I met Sister through Brenda & Brian many years ago when Sister would always visit them when she came to GFW, they always had her over for some delicious lovely meals & some heart warming little chats. Sister was such a beautiful sweet lady. So thank you Brenda for introducig her to me & my husband. Thank you for introducing me to such a kind hearted person who selfishly worked for God & others her entire life, sure once when my husband was unwell, she even put my husbands name on the Prayer Board, which I never forgot & we both appreciated it so much. I just love that after all her years off service to God she still continued to serve others as well. I love that after she went back to NB she would still ask Brenda about us all the time. I heard stories she would tell of how she knew my Dads family (the Jackmans) who also lived on West Street in Grand Falls & how her & her sisters hung around with my Dads sisters. Sister had such a beautiful longevity life here on earth & now God has called her home. RIP Sister Mary McHugh your work hear on earth is done.
Hugs & kisses Brenda & Glen Howell

The family home in Grand Falls was a place of warmth and gathering. The summers and fall were always marked by visiting family, and will always remember Sister Mary’s visits. She would offer wisdom and guidance, and I am thankful for her prayers. She is fondly remembered by all who knew her. God rest Sister. Anne and I wish you eternal happiness.

I was very sorry to read of the death of Sister McHugh. She was a sweetheart. I will offer Morning Prayer for her today, the day of her funeral, and will quietly remember her at a Funeral Mass I am celebrating at Holy Redeemer. May she rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, Sister Mary. May your eternal rest reflect the many times you provided comfort and support to those people who needed it. You were there to help my mom and us three kids through the most difficult time of our lives.

I will always remember Sister Mary's yearly trips home fondly and with affection. She really showed that acts of service can be of any size and the importance of being happy in your choices. Her impact will be felt for a long times.

I remember spending a lot of time with Sister Mary as we were growing up from Christmas's together and taking me and my sister out for Ice cream on a hot summer day. She was always positive and smiling, and would love a visit from myself and my children , always brought a smile to her face. She will be deeply missed by all..
