Obituary of Annie Josephine Connelly
With heavy hearts, the family of Annie Connelly announces the passing of their sweet mother, which occurred on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 12, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Edwards) McKinney.
Annie worked at Keddy’s for 22 years, retiring as the Supervisor of Housekeeping at the age of 62. She was an extraordinary woman, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a heart of gold.
Annie is survived by seven children: Gary (Armande), Tina (Rick), Donna, Peter (Sarah), Bertha, Penny (Dave), and Holly (Brent); brother, Roy; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend of 75 years, Shirley McIvor.
Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her husband, Frank Connelly; sons, Robert and Frank; daughter-in-law, Doris; son-in-law, Morris; sisters: Clara, Jennie “Ninnie”, Peggy, Helen, Betty, Barbara, Dorothy, her baby sister, Connie; and brothers: Bill, Charlie, Dougie, Harold, and Danny.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Luan Le and the team of medical professionals from 5CN for the exceptional care shown to Annie in her final days. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), where visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will take place in Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1 pm, with a reception to follow. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
