Obituary of Elizabeth Catherine Cross

With great sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of Elizabeth Catherine Cross (Muzerall) which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 4th, 2024.
Born March 7th, 1948 in Newcastle N.B., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Margaret (Chambers) Muzerall. She leaves behind her sons Jason Cross and Jeremy Cross, her siblings Janet Muzerall, Barabara Muzerall, Brian Muzerall and Donald Muzerall and her grandchildren Dylan Cross and Alex Cross as well as many cherished nieces and nephews, her life-long friend Geri Clifton, and close friend Wayne White. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Joyce Winn, Karen Muzerall, Leo Muzerall, Derrick Muzerall, and infant sister Paula Muzerall.
Elizabeth was a long-standing employee of Sears Canada where her joyful presence, outgoing personality and outstanding work ethic earned her the admiration and respect from both her co-workers and the customers she served.
She was a devout Catholic and member of Stella Maris Catholic Church as well as a long-standing supporter of the Catholic Cursillo Movement.
Elizabeth loved people and always had a warm friendly greeting to all she met.
Her happiest moments involved being with family and friends, cooking meals, playing cards and board games.
The family would like to thank the first responders and the staff of the emergency department at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their support at this very difficult time.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (506-634-1424). There will be a graveside service at 2 pm on November 13th at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newcastle, N.B. ** A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Stella Maris Church at 10:00 AM. Donations in memory of Elizabeth can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
