Obituary of Lloyd Maxwell Edison

It is with heavy hearts the children of Lloyd Maxwell Edison announce his passing on the evening of November 18th, 2024, at Loch Lomond Villa Birch House. Lloyd passed away peacefully listening to prayer and hymns. His final days were spent surrounded by loved ones.

Born on September 29, 1957, in Botwood, Newfoundland to Donald and Rosella (Diamond) Edison, Lloyd was the youngest of sixteen children. He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Evelyn and Hazel, brothers-in-law, Alex, Norman and Gerald, and many others he had known over the years.

Lloyd was a man of faith and loved attending Sunday service – a faith and love that was passed down to him by his mother. He had the most amazing gift of being able to talk easily with anyone and throughout his life he used it to share his faith. During his last years before getting sick he would spend his Sundays bringing as many as he could out to church. He was a well-known cab driver in Saint John and will be remembered for his kindness and compassion for the less fortunate.

Though our dad will be remembered dearly, we are glad he is no longer suffering and will be reunited with his loved ones that went on before him.

Lloyd will be greatly missed by many people, especially his 9 remaining siblings, 8 children, 28 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

His family would like to thank the staff of Birch house for their most awesome support to him and to the family.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 9:30 AM from First United Pentecostal Church (Mission Point, 130 Mark Drive, Saint John, NB). Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
